I hope this message finds everyone well.  There is a lot of happenings at the studio this week so here goes:
Dream Team and Lion King performers, if you did not get a previous message from me let me know.
WE ARE CLOSED THIS FRIDAY -SATURDAY DUE TO PARKING LOT RESURFACING: This is not of my doing so thank you in advance for your co-operation.  There is no foot traffic allowed until Monday.  All Friday and Saturday classes are cancelled.
More: Angels Team - next rehearsal on Monday, the 27 from 7:30-8:30.  If I had your credit card on file then your team fees and tickets have been processed.  If you would like to pay by Venmo, the link is attached.  Ask me for your ticket total, or you can log into your portal and see your account.

and More: attention June recital performers, costumes have been ordered but many are arriving in June, yes June.  I will have the show order out soon so keep watching for this.
and still More: our July summer schedule is now available on our website for enrollment.  Tuition is based on our current rate of 4 classes a month for $70.00.  Dancers can pick and choose with flexibility being key.  Attend a day, a week or the month.  There is also 2 section ballet intensive where dancers can spend the afternoon taking ballet followed by other classes.  One exception is the pre-pointe workshop taking place on July 5th and 6th.  Dancers must attend both sessions, be in ballet 2 for at least a year and be 10 years old.I am still working on adding some guest teachers to our schedule but you can sign up now for the classes listed.  Classes may be added or taken away due to enrollment, so you can register now and no payment is due until July.  Reminder for current students, there is no registration fee for July. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Looking ahead: Closed Monday, April 3- Saturday, April 8th for Spring Break.

On the list of here we go again:  I regret to give notice that the I have been informed by the building association that the complex will be repaved the weekend of March 24-26th.  We will not be allowed access to the studio on any of these days... Friday/Saturday and Sunday!  For our Friday and Saturday classes, please take a make up lesson..... for our Lion King rehearsal we will move it to the Pittsford Park adjacent to the Lake Forest Elementary School on Saturday morning, March 25 from 9-11:00 only with all dancers being called.  There is never a good time for us to lose a weekend but this time it is literally not of my doing.  If it rains, then the repaving will be cancelled and reschedule and we will be allowed back in the building and parking lots.  I will keep everyone updated accordingly, but for now, these are the arrangements.  I appreciate your flexibility in advance and thank you for your understanding.

Recital commitment forms for the June performance are due this Friday.  Costumes are once again and issue and after Friday, late orders may not arrive on time if they are available. IPlkease turn the form in even if your dancer is not performing in the show.  If you don't I will continue to bother you as I try to remember but don't always remember what I am told.  Hard copies work best for me.
Rehearsals this week:
Saturday: ANGELS TEAM IS ON!  9-12:00. I would love to have another dancer or two if you are in middle school or older.  Fees will not be charged until the first rehearsal so if you need to add to your ticket count kindly let me know.  The game is on Friday night, April 21 at 6:30- and we perform pre-game on the infield.

Our competition dancers had a great weekend in LA at Star Systems placing in the platinum category.... another competition is happening this weekend in LA so wish the girls luck!
Dream Team; no more rehearsals before our half-time game in LA with the South Bay Lakers on March 25th.  We will be performing at half-time and have been invited after the game for an on court photo op with the Laker Girls.  I'll have more info next week and your tickets will be arriving soon.
and lastly.... Congratulations to our dancers who auditioned for, and we accepted into many of the Joffrey Ballet School's Summer Intensives.  Our dancers were offered scholarships/trainee programs and the opportunity to dance all over the US.  I look forward to seeing where they will all be going!

A busy week so I will get to it!

* ALL SATURDAY CLASSES ARE CANCELLED THIS SATURDAY DUE TO THE JOFFREY BALLET INTENSIVE AUDITONS.
  DANCERS I CAN NOT STRESS TO YOU HOW MUCH OF A BIG DEAL THIS IS! THIS IS HUGE!  Dancers in Level 2 and up, I I strongly encourage you to attend! TAKE THE CLASSES!  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO A SUMMER PROGRAM!  IT'S NOT JUST BALLET - jazz/contemporary/ hip hop /musical theater from amazing and famous dancers!  Josie Walsh and Lisa Donmail-Reeve- I have hosted them for master classes - but look them up!  and there is a live piano player!  Dancers attending, sign up on line and arrive early! Black leotards and pink tights - no skirts - hair in a bun for ballet!  Jazz - you can wear leggins or booty shorts - black - no graphic t-shirts - keep it simple.  See me if you need help!
* MORE: No Lion King this Saturday because of auditions. I have attached an updated Lion King schedule to this message.  In addition - cast members read your recital forms carefully - they include your dancers costumes.  Next rehearsal is the 25 from 9-12:00. for everyone 12:30-2:00 all Simbas/Nalas/Timon and Pumba.
**  STILL MORE: Catch our Dream Team this Sunday performing at the Toyota Arena in Ontario! at 2:00, for the AC ONTARIO CLIPPERS! These games tend to be on Facebook live!

*** Attention June recital performers: IT'S HERE!  The recital commitment form for the June recital taking place on the 17th and 18th is attached. Please respond and tell me your St. Patrick's Day plans.We have a short ordering window for costumes so please turn your forms in on time. If your child is not performing with us in June, please return the form anyway and check the box on the last page as indicated.  It will keep me from bothering you. Additional information on the recital will be coming soon so keep checking your email and studio boards.

Here is the news of the week:
REMINDER: WE ARE CLOSED THIS FRIDAY -MONDAY FOR THE PRESIDENTS WEEKEND.  CLASSES WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY.
* Congratulations to all of our dancers who participated in our Lion King Production auditions.  Forms are due today at 7:00 and you need to attend the first rehearsal on February 25 from 9;11:00.

Happy Wednesday!  Here is the news this week!

Congratulations go out to our Dream Team for their amazing performance this weekend at the LA Coliseumto kick off the Nascar Clash.  It really was a fun event, and dancers; you were great!
Also- Congratulations to Mary, one of our Ballet Conservatory students, for her performance in the Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition held this past weekend at the Barclay Theater.  We are so proud of her!  See pictures of both events on our social media accounts and don't forget dancers to send me your photos.
MORE: THIS IS THE WEEKEND MANY OF YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!
The studio production is The Lion King this year and auditions for leading and supporting lead parts take place this Saturday 9-11:00. Dancers must be enrolled in a level I class or higher to participate. Dancers who want to be in the ensemble do not need to attend the audition but must fill out a participation form attached to this message. After this Saturday, the event will close with no more registrations permitted.  Dancers must be able to perform in both recitals on Friday night and Saturday matinee of June 16 and 17th. There is an additional fee to participate and weekly rehearsals on Saturdays from 9:00-2:00.  Dancers who miss rehearsals are eligible to participate but their parts may be reduced.
and MORE: THIS IS THE LAST CALL FOR TO SIGN UP FOR THE  ANGELS BASEBALL TEAM: Perform at the April 21 game! DUE TO EVENT REQUIREMENTS, DANCERS MUST BE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL OR OLDER TO PERFORM.  Forms attached and also in the studio.  Sign up by Saturday as rehearsals are very limited and will begin in March.  The choreography comes from the organization for us to teach.  A small rehearsal fee is required and includes the dancers ticket.

Finally - Dance The Magic Dancers:  I have not forgotten you.  I have reached out on several occasions to Disney about our videos and pictures and have been told they will be arriving soon.  I will let you know when they are in.

THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION THIS WEEK SO PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE.

1) FRIDAY AND SATURDAY CLASSES ARE CANCELLED DUE TO RECITAL THIS WEEKEND!
2) Recital information attached for reference- it is also on the website;
  A) Act I Dancers arrive no later than 4:15 and be ready to start at 4:30- sit in the theater for instructions. If your dancer is only in act 1, be ready to receive them by 5:30.
 B) ACT II- ALL BALLET STUDENTS- Arrive and be ready to go by 5:30- Ready means in the theater waiting - not coming in to the parking lot.  Dancers in the ballet should be finished around 7:30. Parents be ready to receive them at 7:30- and be patient.  It should be close to this time.
Dancers who pre ordered subway - it will be at the theater for you.  Please allow enough time to eat and be ready to go.
3) MORE:
****  ATTENTION TEEN DANCERS- come perform at the Angels baseball infield on April 22nd.  Limited rehearsals and a lot of fun.  Forms attached.

THIS SATURDAY is in studio dress rehearsal for the Dream Team. the Disney Parade Team, all ACT I SOLOISTS AND ALL BALLET SOLOISTS FROM THE AUDITION:
ACT I arrive by 10:15 and be ready to go at 10:30.  You will be done by 11:30
Ballet SOLOISTS arrive and be ready to go by 12:00.  BRING EVERYTHING!  COSTUMES/PROPS/SHOES you do not need make-up or hair.  You will be done by 3:15.

RECITAL INFORMATION INCLUDING THEATER DRESS REHEARSAL AND CALL TIMES CAN BE FOUND IN THE ATTACHMENT. Dancers have also been given a hard copy during their class time and.  Additional information is in the studio and on our website under the menu tab for recital.

FRIDAY IS THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP and PRE-ORDER RECITAL FLOWERS.   $6.00. You can pay by Venmo or cash/check in the studio when you come in next.
If you wish to purchase a recital link which has replaced the dvd's, use this link.  Additionally you can sign up in the studio.  PARENTS: DO NOT VIDEO YOUR CHILD DURING THE SHOW!  YOU MISS THE SHOW!  Watch Them perform!  When you video you miss so much!  The recital links are good and your child will be seen. 
SUBWAY:  Skip the hassle of getting food for dress rehearsal and sign your dancer up for a ham and cheese or turkey and cheese subway sandwhich. Includes chips/dessert and drink $9.00 .  The last day to order is Saturday. Food will be delivered to the theater in time for dress rehearsal.

Auditions for the studio June recital production of THE LION KING, will take place on Saturday February 11 from 9-11:00. For leads and supporting roles.  Dancers who wish to perform in the ensemble do not have to audition.  Sign up for the production in the studio or you can also do it through the portal.  Dancers need to be in a level I class or higher.  Additional rehearsals on Saturdays are required.  $100. includes all rehearsals choreography fees and recital shirt.  The production will perform in both our Friday and Saturday recitals. 
*** ANGELS TEAM IS FORMING: Dancers in middle school and up or with permission are allowed to sign up now for the Angels performance team on Friday, April 21st.  $50.00 includes rehearsals and ticket.  Rehearsals will begin March.
On last thing:
As I said last week, I don't like to mix business with pleasure, but one of our former dance students and Dance Works family is going through a medical hardship right now and could use some help. I was told the Go Fund Me link I sent last week was incorrect so I am including it again.  Kayla was in a car accident with her sister on January 6th and is currently paralyzed.  She is in a medical treatment center in Salt Lake City undergoing therapy.  You can read about her story on the Go Fund Me link.  I have sent a donation on behalf of the studio and am accepting cards, gift cards and gifts to send to her and her family.  Subway, McDonalds, Starbucks, are in her area if you would like to donate you can drop off in the office as I will send them to her.  I know she loves Taylor Swift and she has always been a big Musical Theater fan.    Thank you in advance!
