On a side note: thank you all for your continued assistance with the parking situation, reminder to only park on the side of the building or the first 2 spots in front of the studio next the the handicap.  To keep things simple, do not park in the painted spots at any time.

**  ATTENTION DANCERS WHO ARE ENROLLED IN BALLET CLASSES:  THE RECITAL COMMITMENT FORM IS ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL. We are in the process of preparing and ordering costumes for our ballet recital taking place January 28.  (This is the only recital our ballet classes perform in, with the exception of our rep and conservatory classes.) This year's theme is the Little Mermaid.  Our ballet dancers will learn choreography in class to perform as part of our second act production in January.  The firs act includes our dance team and competition team performers.  Dancers are not required to perform, so if your child does not want to, or is unable to join us, kindly return the spot on the form that says not performing.  If you have questions just ask.

Hello Dancers and Families:

I hope this message finds everyone well!  This has been a busy week at the studio so I have a lot of information to send out.

** First: As you know, parking at the studio is an issue as my lease depends on us adhering to the parking spots allotted to our unit.  We are given the first 2 spots next to the handicap parking, which unfortunately, you can't read the numbers on the ground. We are also permitted to park along the side of the building that faces the Lederbrand facility and the AVI Ivine side which have over 40 spaces.  You may have noticed that recently, my neighboring unit, #70 and #72, has had numbered parking spots painted for his and his neighbor.  Please do not park in any of these spots at any time or for any reason, not at night, not on the weekends, not at all.  While in the past we were able to after hours, this tenant is very verbal about anyone using these spaces, as I have witnessed first hand. I know it may be a lot to ask to avoid these places, but I ask that we do to continue to be the diligent and conscientious neighbors that we are.  Also, please do not stop and drop your dancer off at the front door, please pull into a spot.  Trucks literally speed by and if you are parked on the wrong side or traffic is backed up as you stop there could be an accident.  It only takes once.  If you have an issues just let me know, safety is my priority when it comes to our Dance Works family!  I thank all of you for your understand and patience, you do not have to rush around to get the studio for class.  Please arrive safely, either coming or going from the studio.  There is nothing more important! THANK YOU!

** AND NOW THE NEWS:

***DREAM TEAM IS FORMED AND READY TO GO! First rehearsal 9-11:30 this Saturday.  Parents please stay for the first 30 minutes with your dancers so I can go over important information regarding the team. Dancers bring snacks and water, you will get breaks.  For dancers in Miss Shelby's tap class, you will be excused in time to attend.

***AUDITIONS THIS SATURDAY FOR BALLET LEVEL 2 and up who would like additional parts in the Dance Works Winter Recital of the Little Mermaid taking place January 28th, ($20.00). Extra rehearsals and fees will be required and dancers need to be available on Saturdays for rehearsals.  Forms at the studio, attached to this message or available at auditions.  Level 2 dancers will be dismissed at 1:00.  Level 3 and up must stay 12-2:00. THIS IS AN AUDITION SO DRESS ACCORDINGLY.

Ballet Students will begin choreography for the recital very soon.  Dancers will learn pieces during class to perform in January.  Ballet students do not perform in our summer recital, with the exception of Repertorie and Ballet Conservatory dancers - so this winter recital is for you.  Keep watching your emails and studio message boards for recital commitment forms.  Remember, participation is optional.

*** and More: Dancers who signed up for the Titans of Dance Convention, taking place in Irvine on October 23, our registrations have been processed.  Stay tuned as we get closer to the event to get more information.

****and still there is MORE: DANCE THE MAGIC TEAM: I expect the parade choreography very soon, please keep your Saturday mornings open for rehearsals. I expect them to start no later than October.

*******not done yet!  Dancers in the Nutcracker, your performance will be held in the studio, December 3 - in the morning with light refreshments being served.  Admission is free and more information will come soon.  Kindly attend Miss Rebecca's Friday Repertoire class from 5:30-6:15 for continued rehearsals.  Additional rehearsals will be added later.

DANCERS and FAMILIES:  MARK YOU CALENDARS NOW FOR SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17, for our 4th annual in studio holiday show and fundraiser. Participation is always optional with some classes learning and performing a short holiday piece for your enjoyment. More information coming soon!

******* and finally, the weather is cooling down!  Dancers, you need to wear tights, leotards, booty shorts, leggins, please no bare legs, and hair in a bun for ballet, ponytail for other classes.  Enough said and thank you.  If you need anything let me know and I can help you with stores to get dance wear.  Do not buy off of AMAZON!

Happy Wednesday Dancers and Families:
I hope everyone had a wonderful break and is staying cool!
I have a lot of announcements for this week so please read this message carefully and as always let me know what I have missed and if you need anything.  On a side note, please continue to read the weekly Wednesday messages where you will find all the happenings with the studio, and don't forget to check the message boards in the studio and on our social media accounts.
Here Goes:

* More:  DUE THIS FRIDAY: 
DREAM TEAM FORMS:  Once I have all the paperwork, I will be reaching out to each dancer to secure their basketball jersey number if needed.  Parents: Please attend the first 30 minutes of the first rehearsal with your dancer on Saturday, September 17 at 9:00.  I will go over important information regarding the team.  In addition......We have added another performance to team: Mark your calendars now for SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5th - Time to be announced according to venue. This will be a pre-show event performance for Nascar in LA.
TITANS OF DANCE CONVENTION FORMS:  This event is a a fabulous one day all day, dance class event held in Irvine.  Dancers will be taking class in all styles of dance with many amazing artists such as Alex Wong from the Greatest Showman, Mollee Gray from Teen Beach Movie and Lane Napper from Broadway Dance Center, among other amazing teachers. I recommend it for dancers ages 8 and up and parents can sign up for an observer wristband. More information will be coming soon.
ATTENTION BALLET DANCERS IN LEVEL 2 and UP:  BALLET SOLO AUDITIONS WILL TAKE PLACE on SEPTEMBER 17, from 12-2:00,  for our winter ballet recital: UNDER THE SEA - it's the Dance Works version of the Little Mermaid taking place on Saturday, January 28th, 2023. THIS IS FOR SOLO SPOTS ONLY,  added rehearsals and an extra fee is required. DANCERS NEED TO BE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAYS TO PARTICIPATE SINCE MOST OF THE REHEARSALS TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAYS.  Dancers if you can not attend the audition, you still can be eligible but you must turn in an audition form no later than Friday the 16th to be considered for a spot.  Once auditions are completed the company will be closed.  *** Dancers attending any ballet class at the studio, this recital will be for you.  Recital commitment forms will be out before the end of the month so keep watching for them.  Ballet classes will learn choreography during their class time.  BALLET CLASSES DO NOT PERFORM IN JUNE, with the exception of the REPERTOIRE CLASS and CONSERVATORY.

Dancers in Ballet Conservatory, a performance date has been added for either Friday, or Saturday, November 18 or 19th for the San Juan Hills High School Fusion Concert.  Please mark your calendars now and keep this weekend free.  More info coming soon.

DANCE THE MAGIC TEAM: I will be sending another message later this evening with updates, let me know if you do not get the message.  Rehearsals are expected to begin later this month and will take place on Saturdays.  Let me know if you have any questions.
