Wednesday What's-up

Hello Dancers and Families:

I hope this message finds everyone well!  This has been a busy week at the studio so I have a lot of information to send out.

** First: As you know, parking at the studio is an issue as my lease depends on us adhering to the parking spots allotted to our unit.  We are given the first 2 spots next to the handicap parking, which unfortunately, you can't read the numbers on the ground. We are also permitted to park along the side of the building that faces the Lederbrand facility and the AVI Ivine side which have over 40 spaces.  You may have noticed that recently, my neighboring unit, #70 and #72, has had numbered parking spots painted for his and his neighbor.  Please do not park in any of these spots at any time or for any reason, not at night, not on the weekends, not at all.  While in the past we were able to after hours, this tenant is very verbal about anyone using these spaces, as I have witnessed first hand. I know it may be a lot to ask to avoid these places, but I ask that we do to continue to be the diligent and conscientious neighbors that we are.  Also, please do not stop and drop your dancer off at the front door, please pull into a spot.  Trucks literally speed by and if you are parked on the wrong side or traffic is backed up as you stop there could be an accident.  It only takes once.  If you have an issues just let me know, safety is my priority when it comes to our Dance Works family!  I thank all of you for your understand and patience, you do not have to rush around to get the studio for class.  Please arrive safely, either coming or going from the studio.  There is nothing more important! THANK YOU!

** AND NOW THE NEWS:

***DREAM TEAM IS FORMED AND READY TO GO! First rehearsal 9-11:30 this Saturday.  Parents please stay for the first 30 minutes with your dancers so I can go over important information regarding the team. Dancers bring snacks and water, you will get breaks.  For dancers in Miss Shelby's tap class, you will be excused in time to attend.

***AUDITIONS THIS SATURDAY FOR BALLET LEVEL 2 and up who would like additional parts in the Dance Works Winter Recital of the Little Mermaid taking place January 28th, ($20.00). Extra rehearsals and fees will be required and dancers need to be available on Saturdays for rehearsals.  Forms at the studio, attached to this message or available at auditions.  Level 2 dancers will be dismissed at 1:00.  Level 3 and up must stay 12-2:00. THIS IS AN AUDITION SO DRESS ACCORDINGLY.

Ballet Students will begin choreography for the recital very soon.  Dancers will learn pieces during class to perform in January.  Ballet students do not perform in our summer recital, with the exception of Repertorie and Ballet Conservatory dancers - so this winter recital is for you.  Keep watching your emails and studio message boards for recital commitment forms.  Remember, participation is optional.

*** and More: Dancers who signed up for the Titans of Dance Convention, taking place in Irvine on October 23, our registrations have been processed.  Stay tuned as we get closer to the event to get more information.

****and still there is MORE: DANCE THE MAGIC TEAM: I expect the parade choreography very soon, please keep your Saturday mornings open for rehearsals. I expect them to start no later than October.

*******not done yet!  Dancers in the Nutcracker, your performance will be held in the studio, December 3 - in the morning with light refreshments being served.  Admission is free and more information will come soon.  Kindly attend Miss Rebecca's Friday Repertoire class from 5:30-6:15 for continued rehearsals.  Additional rehearsals will be added later.

DANCERS and FAMILIES:  MARK YOU CALENDARS NOW FOR SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17, for our 4th annual in studio holiday show and fundraiser. Participation is always optional with some classes learning and performing a short holiday piece for your enjoyment. More information coming soon!

******* and finally, the weather is cooling down!  Dancers, you need to wear tights, leotards, booty shorts, leggins, please no bare legs, and hair in a bun for ballet, ponytail for other classes.  Enough said and thank you.  If you need anything let me know and I can help you with stores to get dance wear.  Do not buy off of AMAZON!
